Evidence-Based & Trauma-Informed Therapy in Studio City, CA

I can help. Here’s how:

Welcome to Found Hope Counseling

I am Katie Sanford, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and I offer therapy in Studio City, California.

I am passionate about joining people on their healing journey and helping them navigate toward their goals by providing professional guidance, tools, and support.

My goal is to help people heal so they can feel whole within themselves and joyful in their lives. Everyone deserves to develop strong self-worth and self-esteem, build healthy relationships and feel aligned in their values and beliefs.

Within the therapeutic space, clients are safe to be themselves, feel their feelings and sort through their thoughts without shame or judgment. I would be proud to be able to come alongside you and support you during this part of your journey.

Therapy Might Be The Right Fit If You…

Have been facing discontentment, anxiety, confusion, trouble, or hurt. You could even feel overwhelmed or avoidant about your emotions.

Feel like you are living in a way that doesn’t feel authentic, healthy, or joyful. Maybe you don’t feel aligned with your beliefs or faith.

Are having a hard time processing life events or addressing present struggles. You might also be experiencing unhealthy thinking patterns or habits.

My Therapy Services

I welcome clients in different stages in life and guide them through tailored therapeutic journeys:

Therapy for Individuals

A safe space for adults who might be having a hard time processing their life experiences and need evidence-based tools and professional support to sort through their emotions and feelings in order to heal and grow.

Therapy for Teens

Sometimes teens need to process the new challenges and feelings that come with a new stage in life. They can do it within a safe space and with the support of therapeutic guidance and evidence-based tools.

Therapy for Kids

Kids know how to talk but it is not the best or easiest way for them to express themselves. Their most natural language to process life is play, which is why counseling kids is often done through Play Therapy.

Christian Therapy

Designed for people of faith or from a faith-based background who need a safe space to address concerns and struggles through guidance, support, and tools that are aligned with their belief system.

My Approach, Treatments & Methods

Found Hope Counseling offers Trauma-Informed & Evidence-Based Therapy in Studio City, CA, and the surrounding areas.

Although I do not have a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I do focus on treatments that have been demonstrated to be effective for patients such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, I commonly use other techniques from Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Approach, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) depending on the patient's needs.

I also bring a Trauma-Informed approach and, as a Christian myself, I can offer Christian-Integrated therapy in an authentic way.

You might be wondering…

  • "Trauma-informed" refers to an approach to therapy and not a specific therapeutic treatment. This approach allows us to take into account the potential impact of a traumatic event, and be aware of the context, repercussions, triggers and specific needs related. At Found Hope Counseling we use "evidence-based" methods through the trauma-informed lens.

  • We are focused on treatments that have demonstrated effectiveness, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We also use techniques from Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).

  • In the field of counseling and psychology, the Christian Integration approach seeks to rebuild the bridge between science and faith. It values what each perspective adds to our profession and seeks to integrate the unique qualities of each so that they both play a part in the mental health conversation.
